Be Part of Someone’s Story

Sometimes I think we overlook the fact that we are part of someone’s story—and they’re part of ours.
How amazing is that? Just by knowing someone, sharing time with them, or crossing paths for even a short season, we become a little piece of their story… or maybe even a bigger piece than we’ll ever realize.

Today, we had the honor of witnessing something truly beautiful—two people who’ve been part of our lives for a long time, a daughter and her dad, both being baptized on the same day.
What an incredible father-daughter moment! I sat there just in awe of how God works, how He connects hearts, and how He continues to write these stories that weave through our lives. It makes my heart so happy to be a small part of theirs.

The sermon was powerful, too. It focused on when John the Baptist baptized Jesus. John didn’t fully grasp the magnitude of the moment—he even questioned his worthiness—but Jesus insisted that it must be done to fulfill all that God required (Matthew 3:13-17).
Can you imagine that scene? Jesus rising from the water, the heavens opening, the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and a voice from heaven saying:

“This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.”

What a moment! And I can only imagine the look on John’s face—completely awestruck—as he realized he was a part of something eternal.
That’s what it’s like for us too. When we pour love into people, even in small ways, we become part of their story—just as they become part of ours.

It doesn’t have to be something huge.
It could be as simple as inviting someone over for pizza, meeting for coffee, or going on a road trip together. Every time we love on people, we’re writing chapters into their lives.

Over the years, I’ve been blessed with so many amazing people who’ve become part of my story. Some have stayed, others have drifted away—but they all left an imprint, and I hope I did the same for them.
It may sound simple, but it’s a beautiful thing.

And here’s the best part: for all of us who trust in Jesus, we’re also part of the greatest story ever told—the Book of Life.
There’s nothing better than that.

So this week, go out and love on some people.
Be intentional. Be kind.
And remember—you just might be becoming part of someone’s story in the most meaningful way.
